Defence ever closer to business. Conference "Investment Zone for Defence and Dual-Use"

Business, administration, science and security experts met in Poznań to discuss one of the most important directions of development of the Polish economy. At the conference „Investment Zone for Defence and Dual-Use” we focused on how to support companies that want to enter the defence sector, develop dual-use technologies and make effective use of the available investment instruments.

The event, which we organised at Poznań University of Technology, became a space for discussing the real opportunities for business development in the area of defence — from technologies and competences, through certification and security, to financing and cooperation with public institutions.

Development that is happening here and now

One of the key topics of the conference was the Polish Investment Zone and the new opportunities that have opened up, following the changes in regulations, for projects related to defence and dual-use. It is increasingly clear that defence is becoming not only a strategic area for the state, but also a tangible development opportunity for companies that want to invest, scale up their operations and build a technological advantage.

Technology, competences, financing

During the conference we discussed what really determines entry into the defence sector today. Alongside innovative technological solutions, equally important are competences, organisational readiness, knowledge of procedures, access to capital and the ability to navigate a demanding regulatory environment.

That is why the programme of the event covered dual-use technologies as well as certification, public procurement, organisational security and the financing of investments.

We are creating space for new investments

As the Kostrzyn-Słubice Special Economic Zone, we want to actively support companies that are looking for new directions of development and want to build their position in sectors of strategic importance for the economy. The conference in Poznań was another step in building such an ecosystem of cooperation — one that brings together entrepreneurs, public institutions, science and experts.

We believe that it is precisely in such a model that investments are created which strengthen the competitiveness of companies, develop modern technologies and increase the country's economic security.
