POLISH-GERMAN TALKS ON THE ECONOMY IN SŁUBICE

On 4 February 2026 we had the pleasure of taking part in a meeting of the Steering Group at the Słubice Town Hall (Urząd Miejski w Słubicach), devoted to organising a joint Polish-German business conference, which will take place in late spring this year.

The meeting addressed key issues related to the development of border areas, in particular:

• co-creating a cross-border economy,

• cooperation between local governments, entrepreneurs and business institutions,

• the role of Kostrzyn-Słubice Special Economic Zone S.A. as an important partner in economic development,

• demographic challenges and the activation of people of retirement age,

• training of qualified staff,

• problems faced by companies in the Polish-German borderland (including banking systems, cooperation with tax authorities, labour costs, staff shortages),

• insufficient knowledge among entrepreneurs of the support options offered by KSSSE S.A., including corporate income tax exemptions.

The following took part in the talks:

·        Mayor of Słubice Marzena Słodownik,

·        representatives of the Słubice Town Hall Gmina Słubice,

·        Mariusz Rzeźnikiewicz – Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in Frankfurt (Oder),

·        representatives of the Kooperationszentrum / Centrum Kooperacji / Frankfurt an der Oder Słubice: Sören Bollmann (head of the Centre, from the Frankfurt (Oder) City Hall), Natalia Majchrzak (education monitoring and coordination of educational projects), Marcin Krzymuski (project manager),

·        Lord Mayor of Frankfurt (Oder) Axel Strasser.

KSSSE S.A. was represented by:

  • o   Andrzej Kail – Director of the Marketing and Promotion Department,
  • o   Iwona Sztuka – Deputy Director for Information and Promotion,
  • o   Katarzyna Dombek and Anna Gajewska – Senior Specialists for Information and Promotion.

The meeting was an important step towards strengthening Polish-German cooperation and creating a dialogue platform that supports the economic development of the region.
